Postlingberg - I planned this trip after my first visit as research into the Pilgrimage as a possibility to develop the next stage of Cultural Crossing Series – religion, pilgrimage & folk lore.
I visited the Postlingberg Church and pilgrimage basilica ‘Seven Sorrows of Our Lady’, discovering a wonderful, almost hidden tiny Lady Chapel, part of the original church. I collected literature, took photographs, talked to a few local residents about the history and myths of the place. Outside I pressed flowers, sketched and finally took a ride on the Grottenbahn, a train which took me into the fantasy world of the Brothers Grimm. Armed with lots of food for thought my stay in Linz was over.
