South Wirral High School - Residency and Commission
Brief: Create a piece of sculpture to be installed on the grass area in front of the school outside the reception area. The site will allow the students to view the piece when entering the school building each day.
Commission proposal: I will create a sculpture in the style of Wrotan II, height approximately 200cms, produced in copper.
Residency proposal: During a series of workshops, the students will produce small flower and seed heads from copper wire, developed from observational drawings. These small wire sculptures will be embedded in the heads of the larger sculpture as multiple seeds would be encased within pods in nature.
