BLUECOAT PROJECT SPACE, LIVERPOOL -14th April
Whilst occupying the Bluecoat gallery Project Space as part of Global Studios, I interacted with the public by instigating a dialogue about ‘Names and Places of Origin’ with many visitors to the gallery. My intention was to encourage a considered questioning of the journeys made by their ancestors resulting in a possible mixed race and culture. I documented my connections with the participants by noting their surname, country of origin and by taking a photographic portrait to add to my collection.
The documentation of names and places of origin linked with places of social connection are to become an installation entitled ‘What Is In A Name?’, part of Cultural Crossing 2 Series. See PROJECTS for details.
